Giving you your daily dose of fresh articles.

Are you planning to travel to Zambales? Then don’t forget to apply for an S-PaSS and get your travel coordination permit (TCP).

Last April 1, the province started implementing the use of Safe, Swift, & Smart Passage (S-PaSS) – an online travel management system developed by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

It is a coordination system/platform that communicates the travel policies and requirements of the Provincial LGUs, Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs), and Independent Component Cities (ICCs) around the country.

This application is intended to make a hassle-free journey whether you’re a Locally Stranded Individual (LSI), a Returning Overseas Filipino (ROF), an Emergency Traveler (ETs), or any other traveler during this pandemic.

Should you wish to know more about S-PaSS Application, this article will provide you the details and the processes on how to create your own S-PaSS account and other useful information about this online travel management system.

How to Create an S-PaSS account?

Here are the steps on how to create your S-PaSS account:

  1. Open your smartphone’s internet browser.
  2. Go to s-pass.ph and tap create the account button.
  3. Enter your phone number without the starting 0.
  4. Fill out the registration form.
  5. Log in to your account.

What is Travel Coordination Permit (TCP) and How to Apply for it?

The TCP is a digital document which you will receive upon completion of application through S-PaSS. To apply for your TCP, you have to follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your traveler’s account dashboard.
  2. Go to Menu and apply for travel.
  3. Answer the questions that follow.
  4. Review the general information for travel before submitting your application.
  5. Click Apply for TCP.
  6. Enter your data and required attachments.
  7. Check I’m not a Robot and then click Submit.

Once submitted, your application will be processed and validated anytime between 8:00 AM through 10:00 PM. However, if you applied after 10 o’clock in the evening, validation will be done the following day. For your application to be approved, you must upload the necessary documents, such as ID, proof of residence, RT-PCR negative results, etc. Documentary requirements vary depending on your classification, i.e. APOR, LSI, ROF, ETs, etc.

Not all applications are automatically approved. In fact, there are a lot of applications with pending or cancelled status. Usually, this happens when you 1) did not attach any documents, 2)attached incomplete documents, 3) attached wrong documents. To avoid inconvenience, make sure you have uploaded all the needed documents.

Once approved, you can print the TCP or save it in your mobile phone and present the QR code at the border check point for an easy pass-through. But remember, your TCP is only valid on the date stated in the application form, with exemptions for those residents going out and coming in, APOR, etc., who can apply for a three-month validity period.
